Wakulla County, FL (July 6, 2025) – A devastating collision took the lives of a Crawfordville woman and her teenage passenger Friday evening in Wakulla County. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the two-vehicle crash that occurred just after 6:18 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Port Leon Drive.
According to reports, a sedan heading northbound on Port Leon Drive failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a pickup truck traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 98. The impact of the T-bone collision was severe, leaving both occupants of the sedan with fatal injuries. The 50-year-old driver was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Her 15-year-old passenger was declared deceased at the scene. Both victims were residents of Crawfordville and were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Ford pickup truck was occupied by a 36-year-old Crawfordville man, a 34-year-old Tallahassee man, and two young children, ages 13 and 2. Fortunately, none of the truck’s occupants suffered any injuries. Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision with assistance from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, Wakulla County Fire Rescue, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
