Corpus Christi, TX (August 24, 2025) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning on FM 665 near County Road 43 in Corpus Christi. Authorities have identified the victim as 60-year-old Angelita Chavez.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. on August 23. Texas Department of Public Safety officials say Chavez was driving a Nissan Rogue that was stopped in the eastbound lane of FM 665 when it was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram Pickup.
The impact caused the Rogue to overturn on the southeast shoulder of the intersection. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and pronounced Chavez dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
DPS continues to investigate the crash and whether speed or other factors played a role.
