Lane County, OR (August 24, 2025) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 74-year-old man after a vehicle veered off Highway 58 in Lane County earlier this week.
According to reports, the deadly crash occurred around 9:36 p.m. on August 19 at milepost 48 along Highway 58. Authorities with Oregon State Police say that Joseph Bowers Luker Sr. of Eugene was driving a Nissan Sentra westbound when the vehicle suddenly exited the roadway. The car traveled down an embankment and landed on its side.
First responders arrived and confirmed Luker had suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
