La Salle County, TX (September 26, 2025) – A fiery crash involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Monday resulted in the death of 54-year-old Fernando Espinoza of Dilley, Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly accident happened on September 23 along Interstate 35 near mile marker 55 in La Salle County. Investigators said a white pickup truck collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer under circumstances that remain under review.
Following the impact, the pickup truck burst into flames. Inside were two men—Fernando Espinoza and 26-year-old Kyle Baily Jones of Natalia, Texas. Both men died at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries and was treated by first responders.
Troopers remain on the scene gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues.
