According to the Illinois State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:23 a.m. on January 8 near Frontage Road and Taylor Road. Officials say a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Frontage Road lost control at a curve, went airborne, and crashed through a concrete barrier wall. The car then landed on northbound I-55, where it was struck by another vehicle.
