Nashville, TN (January 17, 2026) – A tragic early-morning collision in South Davidson County claimed the life of a 42-year-old man and left two others seriously injured Friday.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on January 16 at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Zermatt Avenue near Brentwood. Metro Nashville Police say 38-year-old Katera Johnson was driving a Lincoln Grand Marquis eastbound on Old Hickory Boulevard with 42-year-old Markeith Miller as her passenger.

As Johnson began turning left onto Zermatt Avenue, her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a westbound Honda Accord driven by 25-year-old Eddie McGee III. The impact was severe and killed Miller at the scene. Johnson’s vehicle also reportedly struck a utility pole during the crash.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
