Cameron, MO (December 30, 2025) – A fiery multi-vehicle crash in northern Missouri claimed the life of one man and injured several others Saturday night on U.S. Highway 36.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 8:54 p.m. on December 28, 2025. A 34-year-old man from Savannah, Missouri, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Missouri Highway 33 when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with U.S. 36. The Tahoe collided with an eastbound 2025 Volvo semi-truck, causing the tractor-trailer to overturn onto its side.
Following the collision, the Tahoe caught fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two young passengers in the SUV—a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy—were transported to a hospital in St. Joseph for treatment of their injuries.
While first responders were managing the scene, a second crash occurred. A 21-year-old man from Cameron driving a 2009 Toyota Venza struck the overturned trailer, reporting that smoke and fog obscured his vision. He was also hospitalized in St. Joseph.
