According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9:25 a.m. on September 16 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 377 and Jagger Road, just northeast of Madill. Jayden McCain, a freshman wrestler at Murray State College, was behind the wheel when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

McCain, who was wearing a seat belt, was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
