According to reports, the collision occurred just before 10:00 p.m. on August 4 on U.S. Route 191 in Rock Point, located in northern Apache County. The Navajo Police Department’s Chinle District, along with Navajo Nation Fire & Rescue, responded to the scene.
Officials said the crash involved three vehicles, one of which caught fire. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others sustained critical trauma injuries. Both were airlifted by helicopter to separate hospitals—one to Farmington and the other to Flagstaff—for emergency treatment.
