The Villages, FL (January 13, 2026) – A tragic two-vehicle collision involving a golf cart and a passenger vehicle claimed the lives of two individuals Friday night, January 9, in The Villages.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a 64-year-old Lady Lake man driving a golf cart westbound on County Road 109 reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of U.S. 27/U.S. 441. A southbound Kia Soul, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Eustis, collided with the golf cart in the intersection.
The impact caused the golf cart to overturn and come to rest at the southwest corner of the intersection. The driver and his passenger, a 58-year-old woman from The Villages, were transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the Kia and a 1-year-old child passenger sustained minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
