Allen County, IN (October 6, 2025) — A deadly early morning crash between a flatbed truck and a car shut down State Road 37 near Harlan on Saturday and left one person dead.
According to the Indiana State Police, the incident happened at approximately 5:37 a.m. on October 5 in the 14300 block of Barnett Road and IN-37, about one mile west of Harlan. Authorities say the driver of a car traveling northeast crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a flatbed truck traveling southwest.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the flatbed truck was not injured in the collision.
State Road 37 was closed in both directions for several hours following the accident but has since reopened to traffic. Investigators are continuing to review the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
