According to the Michigan State Police, the collision happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. on October 26 near the intersection of M-37 and West 10 1/2 Road. Investigators say a northbound passenger vehicle crossed the center line and struck a semi-truck head-on.
The driver of the car, who has not yet been publicly identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver survived and was transported by ambulance to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City with non-life-threatening injuries.
