Nashville, TN (December 13, 2025) – A late-night hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a cyclist on Nolensville Pike near Burkitt Road, according to Metro Nashville Police.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on December 10. Authorities say 31-year-old Blaise Schaeffer of Nolensville was riding his bicycle in the northbound lane when he was struck by a blue Honda Civic. Witnesses told police the car had been speeding and driving erratically before the crash, and that a Nolensville Police officer had attempted to stop the driver moments earlier.
After striking the cyclist, the vehicle came to a stop near Concord Hills Drive. The driver fled the scene on foot.
