Dover, DE (August 25, 2025) – A 44-year-old Dover man died Saturday night after being struck by two vehicles on Salisbury Road, one of which fled the scene, according to the Dover Police Department.
According to reports, officers were dispatched at approximately 8:46 p.m. on August 23 to the area of Salisbury Road and Clara Street Extension after receiving a call regarding a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. First responders located the victim and transported him to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators say the initial impact occurred when a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound struck the man as he was walking in the roadway. A second vehicle, which has not been identified, also struck the victim and fled the scene without stopping.
Authorities are continuing to investigate and are working to identify the hit-and-run driver.
