Cherokee County, GA (February 21, 2026) – A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a 27 year old man Tuesday afternoon following a collision along East Cherokee Drive in the Macedonia community. The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. on February 18, just north of Cumming Highway.
According to the Georgia State Patrol , Nicholas Rider of Jasper was traveling north on East Cherokee Drive on his motorcycle when an 82 year old driver traveling south turned her passenger vehicle into a driveway directly in front of him. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle during the turn. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Rider was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. Authorities confirmed that no charges have been filed at this time as the investigation continues.
