Gaines Township, PA (August 10, 2025) — One person was killed and two others were injured Tuesday night, August 5, in a two-vehicle collision along Route 6 in Gaines Township, Tioga County. Pennsylvania State Police say the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 6 and Shin Hollow Road at around 9:00 p.m.
According to reports, a motorcycle carrying a driver and passenger was slowing to turn left onto Shin Hollow Road when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. The impact ejected both motorcycle occupants, sending them onto the south shoulder of the roadway. The female passenger was transported to UPMC Wellsboro and pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital, where their condition remains unknown. The driver of the second vehicle was treated at UPMC Wellsboro for minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
