Greenwood, DE (August 30, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a Dover man early Friday morning in Sussex County. The collision occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. on August 29 along Beach Highway (State Route 16), west of Webb Farm Road, near Blacksmith Shop Road in Greenwood.
According to the Delaware State Police, a gray Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle was headed westbound at a high rate of speed when the rider crossed into the eastbound lane to pass two vehicles. After returning to the westbound lane, the rider lost control. The motorcycle began to skid, exited the roadway, and struck a utility pole. The impact ejected the 39-year-old male rider from Dover, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until family is notified.
