Baldwin County, AL (December 25, 2025) – A tragic early morning crash on Interstate 65 in Baldwin County claimed the life of an Axis man on Tuesday.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the collision occurred around 1:20 a.m. on December 24 near the 43-mile marker on I-65, roughly nine miles north of Bay Minette. The crash involved a 2023 Yamaha YZF-R7 motorcycle and a 2022 Hyundai Sonata.
Gary W. Jordan, 48, of Axis, was riding the Yamaha motorcycle when it was struck by the Sonata, which was driven by 21-year-old Jemalra Williams of Atmore. Jordan was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Williams sustained injuries and was transported to North Baldwin Hospital in Bay Minette for treatment.
Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
