Tarrant County, TX (September 2, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident in southwest Tarrant County claimed three lives and left two others critically injured on Monday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the deadly scene around 8:20 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 1187 near Ben Day Murrin Road. The collision occurred just southeast of Wheatland and Whiskey Flats and involved four vehicles, one of which caught fire upon impact.
Responders arrived within minutes to find multiple victims, several of whom were pulled from a burning vehicle with the help of brave bystanders. Three people were pronounced dead, while two others were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. FM 1187 was shut down overnight for the investigation but reopened by 5:30 a.m. the next day.
The cause of the crash is under active investigation by the sheriff’s Traffic Investigations Unit.
