Kankakee, IL (August 11, 2025) — A Friday morning collision in Kankakee County left one person dead and two others injured. The accident happened on August 8 at the intersection of Illinois Route 50 and West County Line Road/East 12000N Road.
According to reports, Illinois State Police responded at around 7:30 a.m. to a three-vehicle crash at the scene. Three people were taken to a nearby hospital, including one driver who was critically injured and later pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released. Manhattan Fire Protection District Chief Steve Malone said the two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries. All lanes in the area remained closed for several hours as investigators worked to document the scene and determine the cause.
