Powell, TN (June 14, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash off Interstate 75 claimed the life of an 85-year-old man on Thursday, June 13, in Knox County.
According to reports, the Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the scene near East Emory Road and Barnett Way. Around the time of the crash, 85-year-old Margaret Cain was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu with her husband, Howard Cain, as a passenger. As they attempted to enter East Emory Road from Barnett Way, their vehicle collided with a 2019 Toyota 4Runner driven by 43-year-old Jessica Lee Davis-Harvey, who was traveling eastbound.
The crash report indicates that Margaret failed to yield the right of way, resulting in the collision that caused the 4Runner to spiral to an uncontrolled stop. Howard Cain suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead. Both Margaret Cain and Jessica Davis-Harvey were injured and taken for medical care. Their current conditions have not been released.
Authorities have not filed any charges as of now, and the incident remains under investigation.
