Lakeland, FL (December 1, 2025) – Two women lost their lives Saturday evening in a violent multi-vehicle crash along Kathleen Road in Polk County. The deadly wreck occurred just before 6 p.m. on November 30 near Nick and Moe’s gas station.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Rylee Hill of Fort Meade was driving a Nissan when she failed to navigate a curve and crossed over the center median. The vehicle briefly went airborne before striking a Kia, then a Dodge Ram, and ultimately crashed head-on into an Audi SUV driven by the Dodge driver’s son.
Tragically, Hill and one of the Audi’s passengers, 79-year-old Annette Zalner, were both killed in the collision. Three other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening conditions. Deputies believe excessive speed by Hill played a role in the crash.
