Columbia County, FL (August 14, 2025) – A deadly pedestrian crash occurred early Wednesday morning on a major route in southern Columbia County, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old man.
According to reports, the incident took place around 5:00 a.m. on August 13 along U.S. Highway 41, near Adams Street. Florida Highway Patrol investigators say the man, a High Springs resident, was walking in the northbound lane when he was first struck by a car traveling northbound.
The impact pushed the pedestrian into the southbound lane, where a van then struck him a second time. Tragically, the man died at the scene. Both drivers involved in the crash were uninjured, and remained at the location during the investigation.
