Moreau, NY (July 17, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a commercial vehicle at a busy intersection in Saratoga County, according to New York State Police.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 11:47 a.m. on July 16 at the intersection of Route 9 and Fawn Road in the town of Moreau. Authorities identified the victim as 78-year-old Robert Baker.

Police say a commercial truck traveling northbound on Route 9 struck Baker in the intersection. Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Baker deceased on site. No additional injuries were reported, and the driver of the truck remained at the scene and has been cooperating with investigators.
