According to reports, police say the driver of a Ford Escape was heading northbound when he drove onto the east sidewalk near Northeast Jessup Street, hitting two pedestrians and narrowly missing a child. One pedestrian died at the scene, while the other sustained life-threatening injuries.
The Ford Escape then returned to the roadway, sideswiped a Hyundai SUV, and moments later collided head-on with both a Buick sedan and a Toyota pickup north of Northeast Ainsworth Street.
