According to the Georgia State Patrol , troopers were dispatched at approximately 6:50 p.m. on February 10 to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Georgia Highway 96 near East Main Street. Authorities said an unidentified vehicle was traveling westbound on Georgia Highway 96 when it struck a woman who was walking in the center of the roadway. The driver continued west toward Jeffersonville following the impact.
