Wesley Chapel, FL (August 7, 2025) – A man was killed late Wednesday night in a pedestrian collision near The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel. The Florida Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred shortly after 10:15 p.m. along State Road 56.
According to reports, the victim, a 34-year-old Sanford man, had been involved in a minor crash east of Shops Lane. Moments later, troopers say he walked into the path of a westbound Honda Civic driven by a 40-year-old Sanford man, who struck him. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Civic was not injured. Troopers continue to investigate and have not said whether the men knew each other.
