West Hartford, CT (December 11, 2025) – A deadly road rage incident on Interstate 84 in West Hartford left one person dead on Tuesday afternoon, December 9, following a confrontation between two commercial vehicle drivers.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-84 near Exit 44, which leads to Prospect Avenue. Authorities say the drivers of a tractor trailer and a box truck, stuck in traffic, engaged in an altercation that escalated when one of the drivers exited their vehicle and climbed onto the other’s truck. During the confrontation, one person was run over by a vehicle involved in the dispute and was pronounced dead at the scene.
