Oxon Hill, MD (November 1, 2025) – A devastating rollover crash on the outer loop of Interstate 495 near St Barnabas Road in Oxon Hill claimed one life and left three others seriously injured early Friday morning.
According to the Maryland State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 5:15 a.m. on October 31. Emergency crews from Prince George’s County Fire/EMS arrived to find one vehicle overturned and one occupant ejected from the vehicle. That individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional passengers sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.
The crash prompted an extended closure of all outer loop lanes just past MD-210. Traffic was detoured through MD-210 and MD-414, creating delays of up to four hours as investigators and cleanup crews worked the scene.
