Newberry, FL (July 27, 2025) – A 34-year-old man from Trenton was killed early Wednesday morning in a violent three-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks on County Road 235, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 2:52 a.m. on July 24, between the cities of Newberry and Alachua, just south of County Road 232. The victim was driving a sedan southbound on County Road 235 when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane. It first sideswiped a semi-truck, then collided head-on with a second semi-truck traveling in the same direction.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released. The first semi-truck driver, a 75-year-old man from Andersonville, Georgia, was not hurt. The driver of the second truck, also 75 and from Andersonville, sustained minor injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
