Newburg, MD (July 18, 2025) – A deadly crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in Charles County when a vehicle became trapped beneath a UPS tractor-trailer at a major intersection in Newburg.
According to reports, the collision took place around 2:40 p.m. on July 15, 2025, at the intersection of Crain Highway (U.S. Route 301) and Rock Point Road. Emergency dispatchers confirmed that the vehicle slid beneath the trailer of the UPS semi-truck, resulting in severe entrapment.
First responders from Rescue Engine 14 and multiple medic units arrived on scene within minutes. The driver of the car was pronounced dead by 2:51 p.m., and the incident was classified as a “Priority 4” fatality. Tactical operations at the site were concluded shortly afterward.
The UPS truck remained at the intersection while crash reconstruction teams began their investigation. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver pending next-of-kin notification. No other injuries were reported.
Northbound Crain Highway remains closed, and authorities are urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
