Winkler County, TX (August 4, 2025) — A devastating three-vehicle crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of a professional truck driver and injured two others at a rural intersection in Winkler County.
News sources show the accident occurred just before 6:00 a.m. on August 3 at the intersection of State Highway 115 and County Road 302. Authorities say 24-year-old Teodricke Alexander Lamar Miller of Marlin, Texas, was driving a 2019 GMC Acadia northbound on SH 115 and slowing to turn left onto CR 302 when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2015 Ford F-350 driven by 26-year-old Raheem Griffin, also of Marlin.
The impact pushed Miller’s vehicle into a barrow ditch, where it caught fire. Meanwhile, the disabled Ford F-350 remained in the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound 2015 Freightliner Cascadia pulling a trailer. The Freightliner overturned on impact.
The truck’s driver, 48-year-old Areal Casanas of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seatbelt. Griffin suffered serious injuries and was transported to Winkler County Memorial Hospital, while Miller sustained minor injuries.
