Independence, MO (December 30, 2025) – A Kansas City woman is dead and three others are seriously injured following a suspected drunk-driving crash Saturday night at the intersection of Missouri Highway 291 and Kentucky Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Independence Police responded to the scene at approximately 9:18 p.m. on December 27, 2025. Investigators say a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was heading west on Kentucky Road when it reportedly ran a red light and collided with a northbound 2010 Ford Ranger.

The impact struck the passenger side of the Ford, sending both vehicles into the southbound lanes of MO-291. One passenger in the Ford, identified as 36-year-old Jennifer Jensen of Kansas City, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional passengers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was also hospitalized.
