Jackson County, IN (June 26, 2025) — A tragic farming accident in Redding Township has claimed the lives of a 68-year-old woman and a 4-year-old boy after they were struck by a farm tractor Monday evening.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on June 23 in a rural area north of Seymour. Emergency responders with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrived to find both victims had sustained critical injuries after being hit by the tractor.
The child was rushed to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Louisville, but she succumbed to her injuries early Wednesday morning, June 25.
