According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a 2010 Dodge Durango driven by 40-year-old Ashley Yates of Pontotoc was traveling eastbound when it collided with a 2016 Toyota Corolla driven by 50-year-old Franco C. Medina of Peachtree Corners, Georgia. Medina, who was also traveling east, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. Yates was not reported to have life-threatening injuries.
