Ensign Township, MI (June 2, 2025) — A tragic head-on collision in Delta County left one man dead and another seriously injured on Sunday morning.
According to reports, Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post responded at 10:12 a.m. on June 1 to County 513 T Road near Twin Springs Park 20.5 Lane. Authorities stated that a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 60-year-old Rapid River man, was pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal injuries. The southbound driver, a 45-year-old man also from Rapid River, suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba for medical treatment. No other passengers were involved. Police indicated that drugs and/or alcohol might have contributed to the crash, though the investigation remains ongoing.
