According to the West Virginia State Police, the accident occurred around 4:25 p.m. on September 10 near 235 Smithtown Road. Investigators say 44-year-old Marlena Sloan of Morgantown was traveling along the roadway when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a box truck.
Sadly, Sloan did not survive the impact. The two individuals in the box truck were unharmed. Emergency responders arrived quickly, and the area was secured for a crash investigation, which remains ongoing at this time.
