Chicago, IL (September 14, 2025) – A man tragically lost his life Friday afternoon in a crash involving two vehicles at a busy intersection in Chicago’s West Side.

According to the Illinois State Police, the deadly collision occurred just before 2 p.m. on September 12 near the intersection of South Sacramento Boulevard and West Arthington Street. Authorities say a Chevrolet was traveling southbound on South Sacramento Boulevard when it struck a Nissan SUV at the crossing.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as 55-year-old Leon Jordan, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
