Constantia, NY (September 18, 2025) – A man has died following a two-vehicle collision Monday evening in Oswego County.
According to the New York State Police, troopers responded to a serious crash along State Route 49 in the town of Constantia at approximately 6:40 p.m. on September 15. The initial investigation revealed that a 2024 Ford Expedition, driven by 66-year-old Kenneth M. Johnson of Cleveland, veered off the road and struck a mailbox on the north shoulder before crossing into the eastbound lane.
The Ford then collided head-on with a 2010 Toyota Prius operated by a 39-year-old man, also from Cleveland. After the impact, the Ford continued off the south shoulder and hit a tree.
The driver of the Prius was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Johnson was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries, while his passenger, 53-year-old Lisa A. Demarco, was unharmed.
The crash remains under investigation by State Police.
