Escambia County, FL (December 13, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a fire shut down westbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Escambia County Thursday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4:00 p.m. on December 11 near mile marker 12. Authorities say a Subaru, driven by a 58-year-old man from Milton, rear-ended a Penske box truck operated by a 31-year-old man from Coden, Alabama. The impact forced the box truck into a Toyota Camry, driven by a 57-year-old man from Loxley, Alabama.
Both the Subaru and the box truck caught fire, creating a hazardous situation on the roadway. The Toyota Camry came to rest on the shoulder. The crash caused a traffic backup and temporary road closure while crews extinguished the fire and removed the wreckage.
