Navajo Police Department Chinle District, along with Navajo Nation Fire & Rescue, responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 191 in Rock Point just before 10 p.m.
According to reports, the collision involved three vehicles, one of which burst into flames. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others suffering from critical trauma injuries were flown to hospitals in Farmington, New Mexico, and Flagstaff, Arizona, for emergency treatment.
