Greene County, AL (July 14, 2025) — A devastating two-vehicle collision claimed five lives, including two young children, in Greene County earlier this month. The deadly crash happened on July 5 at approximately 10:17 p.m. on Interstate 59/20 near the County Road 20 exit.
According to reports, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said that 45-year-old Stephen Keele of Ellisville, Mississippi, was driving a Ram 1500 when it collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna. The impact caused both vehicles to erupt into flames. Keele died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Sienna, 36-year-old Tejaswini Cholleti of Aubrey, Texas, was also killed, along with passenger Sri Bejuagm, 40, and two children, ages 6 and 8, who were inside the minivan. All four occupants of the Sienna were from Aubrey, Texas.
Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash to determine what led up to the tragic collision.
