Houston, TX (August 2, 2025) — A Houston firefighter was injured while battling a house fire in northwest Houston Friday night. The blaze broke out shortly after 9:12 p.m. on Wedgewood Lane, near Wirt Road, drawing a full emergency response from the Houston Fire Department.
According to reports, firefighters launched an offensive attack after initial 911 calls suggested someone may have been trapped inside the burning home. As crews worked the fire, one firefighter—who has been with HFD for six years—was injured while coming off the roof of the structure.
