Houston, TX (August 30, 2025) – A robbery suspect fleeing police caused a chain-reaction crash that injured five people and involved a METRO bus Friday evening in Houston.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 4:54 p.m. on August 29 at the intersection of Yale Street and North Loop East. Deputies reported that during a pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle struck another car, which then slammed into the rear side of METRO Bus #1992 carrying ten passengers.
Four juveniles and one adult were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The bus driver and one passenger suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who had been driving with a flat tire, fled the vehicle on foot but was later taken into custody by authorities.
