Five Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 6 in Utah

Price, UT (September 29, 2024) – A devastating chain reaction crash involving four vehicles in central Utah claimed the lives of four Minnesota residents and one Utah man, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 6 near Price.

The crash occurred when the driver of an SUV, while trying to merge onto the highway, missed the acceleration lane and veered directly into the path of a semi-truck towing double trailers. The truck driver swerved to avoid the SUV but lost control, crossing the median and crashing into a Nissan Rogue traveling in the opposite direction. The collision propelled the Nissan off the road, crashing it into a rocky embankment. The semi-truck and the Nissan also struck an all-terrain vehicle on the shoulder of the highway.

All four occupants of the Nissan—Sang Her, 56; Lee Thao, 38; Bee Moua, 26; and Mai Lor, 25—were killed, along with Gustavo Mendoza, 35, the ATV driver. The SUV driver sustained minor injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Protecting Your Rights after an Accident

After an accident, protecting your rights is essential for securing compensation and justice. Start by seeking immediate medical attention to document any injuries. Even minor symptoms should be checked, as they can worsen later.

Next, gather evidence from the scene, such as photographs, witness contact information, and the official police report. These details are vital for any insurance claims or potential lawsuits.

Consult a personal injury attorney as soon as possible to understand your legal options. An experienced attorney can guide you through negotiations with insurance companies and ensure you are treated fairly. They can help you file a claim to cover medical bills, lost wages, and other damages.

Act quickly, as legal deadlines for filing personal injury claims vary by state. Protecting your rights from the beginning will give you the best chance for a favorable outcome and ensure you receive the compensation you deserve.
