Southington, CT (September 14, 2025) – Four people were hospitalized following a serious two-vehicle crash on Interstate 691 in Southington Saturday evening, according to Connecticut State Police.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the collision occurred around 9:40 p.m. on September 14 near Exit 5. Investigators say a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound when an eastbound Acura TI suddenly veered across all eastbound lanes, crossed the grassy median, and entered the westbound side of the interstate.
Once in the westbound lanes, the Acura collided with the Chevrolet, causing significant damage and injuries. The driver of the Acura sustained serious injuries and was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Three other individuals—presumably in the Silverado—were also taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash and whether impairment or mechanical failure may have played a role.
