Boise, ID (August 4, 2025) – A major crash involving four vehicles on Interstate 84 left one person dead and two others hospitalized Thursday evening west of Nampa, according to Idaho State Police.

According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 6:06 p.m. on July 31 near milepost 32 in Canyon County. Investigators say a 57-year-old Boise man driving a 2005 Honda Pilot westbound attempted to change lanes and struck the driver side of a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. That vehicle, driven by a 59-year-old Star woman, veered into the median barrier.

The Honda Pilot then overcorrected, crossed into the eastbound lanes of I-84, and struck a 2024 Toyota Tacoma head-on. Moments later, the Tacoma was hit on the driver’s side by a 2017 Ford van driven by a 45-year-old man from Kingsport, Tennessee.

The driver of the Honda Pilot died at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Honda and a 48-year-old woman from Brazil in the Ford van were transported to the hospital for treatment. She was not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
