GREGORY COUNTY, SD (January 11, 2025) – A 59-year-old woman from Fairfax tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash north of Herrick on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 2:10 PM on 350th Avenue near 286th Street. According to authorities, a 2001 Ford F-250 was traveling north, while a 2007 Honda CR-V was heading south. The two vehicles collided at the crest of a hill.
The 40-year-old male driver of the Ford was not injured. The driver of the Honda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
