Pateros, WA (November 12, 2025) – A head-on collision along State Route 153 sent two people to the hospital on Monday afternoon, including 21-year-old Guilibaldo Vejarbarber of Omak.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:49 p.m. near milepost 2 on SR 153. Vejarbarber was driving a 2015 Acura RDX northbound when he reportedly crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2023 Kia Sportage.
Vejarbarber sustained injuries and was transported to Three Rivers Hospital. Cynthia Morgan, 70, a passenger in the Kia, was seriously injured and airlifted to Confluence Health for further treatment. William Morgan, 62, who was driving the Kia, was not injured.
Authorities have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by WSP.
