Hampton, KY (January 5, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on KY 15 South near Hunting Fork Road claimed the lives of two drivers and left a passenger injured Saturday morning.
According to Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8, the crash occurred when a northbound White Ford Fusion, driven by 39-year-old Carl Osborn of Thornton, crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound Chevrolet Express van driven by 37-year-old David Lemus Castro of Lexington. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in Castro’s van suffered chemical burns and was initially transported to Kentucky River Medical Center before being airlifted to UC Medical Center for advanced care.
Emergency responders from Wolfe County Sheriff’s Office, Wolfe County Fire and EMS, and the Wolfe County Coroner assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation, with Trooper Dakota Rasche conducting a collision reconstruction.
